The Aquatic III – Fourth Street.

Berkeley, 2016

Aquatic III provides 152 apartments, 15,000 sf of retail and restaurant space and parking for 219 cars and 98 bicycles.

Large windows and 9′-2″ high ceilings will provide good natural light and fresh air. Amenities include landscaped rooftop gardens,  a lushly landscaped inner courtyard, a demonstration kitchen,  a gym, and a bocce ball court. Projected street level retail uses will include two restaurants and a 10,000 sf grocery. The project will be a gateway to town upon entering from the freeway.  The project is adjacent to the Read Building and the Sierra Nevada Torpedo Room, also designed by Trachtenberg Architects, and helps to create a new pedestrian-oriented neighborhood in West Berkeley’s Fourth Street district.

If looked at as a singular phased project, Aquatic I, II and III contain a total of 258 apartment units, 18,000 sf of ground floor retail space,  parking for 219 cars and 133 bicycles with a total floor area of 320,000 sf.
