Phoebe

Berkeley, 2019

This project, located along San Pablo Avenue in West Berkeley will provide for 101 apartments, of which two are Live/Work.  Parking for 49 cars will be provided along with parking for 92 bicycles.

Oftentimes, live/work units at the ground level present a dead face to the sidewalk with privacy curtains drawn for the benefit of the resident and to detriment of street life.  The deep sculptural display boxes which we’ve devised allow Live/Work residents to showcase their wares to the passerby both day and night by providing a screen on the interior such that residents can enjoy privacy while still presenting an active window to the street.

The Phoebe is currently in the process of winning Zoning Approvals. We expect to commence construction in the Summer of 2020.
