Shattuck Square Micro Studios

Berkeley, 2019

Shattuck Square is currently in construction.

The project, consisting of 48 studio apartments is located one block from the UC Berkeley campus on a tiny 3,700 sf lot in downtown Berkeley. At an astonishing 570 units per acre, the project is a study in efficient urban development.

The studio units range from 350sf to 427sf and all furnishings are custom designed  as to make the best possible use of the available space.

A landscaped rooftop garden for residents offers views of the campus to the east and towards the San Francisco Bay to the west.

The building sets a new standard for the development of high-density housing in the downtown area. The building is being designed to LEED Gold standards.
