Backroads – Provence, France

Venasque, France  2018

Backroads, an internationally recognized active tourism company, retained Trachtenberg Architects to create its European Operations Center in Venasque, France (near Avignon).

The program includes:

  • An office building (±5,000 sf) for about 50 people, including a large training room, a bike repair shop, common kitchen/lunch room, garden and second floor open air meeting space.
  •  A warehouse (±27,000 sf) to contain 10,000 bicycles,  a bicycle mechanical shop, space for storage of gear and supplies, a laundry, a commercial kitchen, a bunkhouse for showers, sleeping, lockers, and storage.
  • A large exterior yard for parking and storage of hundreds of vans and trailers.

The project is currently in Design and is expected to commence construction in 2019.
